How not to lose visibility in Planfix when working in Google Docs
16.10.2020
The morning began with comments to colleagues.
Since the enlightened monarchy is proclaimed in the PIP, I am in my power in all processes and situations as an observer, but I do not climb without reason.
Yesterday, the guys asked me to look at the project in the Planfix department and discuss the situation - "The customer wants to discuss document edits in Google Docs' comments, but we’ll lose clarity in Planfix and the time will flow to some unknown place."
I went to take a look, disassembled the case and generally checked the project. Then he formulated the theses for the guys:
- We talked in a voice - fixed the results - requested confirmation from the Customer - Received confirmation / clarifications - We started working;
- We started working, fixing the cheat sheets for ourselves. Yes, the programmer writes notes in the code, but we in Planfix cannot always do that, so we need to prepare ourselves such cheat sheets in the form of links, which will then be included in the report.
- New introductory entries appear - we add them to the checklist or to subtasks. There should not be something important in the correspondence sheet in the task, but there should be a clear outline of what is happening in the task / project and why. We do not spend the entire task limit on setting up, maximum - 50%, so that there is time for dialogue and testing. If we do not understand how to meet such an assessment, we torment the one who gave it, let him help.
In the case of Planfix, it is easier to give estimates than with programming, it is a product of a low-code concept, so you can grasp it with your mind. But when you have a lot of projects, it's hard to keep them all in your head.
Don't think that this was not the case. This is part of our daily life in the development and support section, but in the Planfix projects department, the standards are distorted by the specifics of the work, and we simply create them for ourselves from scratch.
The principle here is that each department can and should form its own rules of work, because guys and girls know better what and how they need.
My team is stronger than me, so I have to help them, not interfere. This is what I do, periodically criticizing in order to generate doubts and new ideas for organizing daily work.
Friday, guys, today we need to finish the sprint of tasks and calmly go for the weekend.
