Notes from a business trip, part 7. Wednesday - little Friday

23.09.2020

Wednesday is a small Friday, as those who like to relax on Fridays say. But the phrase makes sense.

On Friday, I recommend checking the data and promises received. If we were promised to finish something by Friday, then we have exceeded 50% of the deadline and it's time to clarify if there are any problems with the project?

this, because you can fail not just one person, but a whole project in which you do not have time and create risk. Moreover, if the problem is bigger, then other tasks and projects with your participation may suffer, and this is an even greater risk.

Look at your tasks and deadlines, make a snapshot, clarify the details, check the past 2 days, maybe it may still be possible to regain elusive control!

Well, and most importantly, if a new task arrives today and tomorrow and you obviously do not have the resources for it, I recommend moving it to the next sprint. Put it in the work plan on Monday and calmly go to work with her. Otherwise, you risk driving yourself and the team and the client down, because few serious problems will be solved in such a short time if the team is already loaded.

Be honest and know how to refuse correctly. Have a nice day!
